Wat was die inspirasie agter jou matriekafskeidrok?

I looked at a lot of pictures of dresses and came up with a design that I liked. I then briefed the dress maker and she refined it, and added her touch to it. I love gold and crystal rhine stones as they have always been part of my rhythmic gymnastics leotards when I was still competing. So this dress is symbolic of my gymnastics leotards.

Wat beteken jou matriekafskeidrok vir jou?

It is very personal to wear a dress you have dreamt of for an entire year. The dress symbolises my own creativity and reflects my personality. It also reflects my past, where I was a national age group rhythmic gymnastics champion. I had to give up gymnastics to focus on academics, so this dress was a final goodbye to those special days.

I’m going to study mechanical engineering at Tuks in 2026. I’d like to work in robotics or aeronautical engineering.
