SARIE Matric Dance Dress of the Year: Here are your rules

  1. To enter, you must currently be in Grade 12. It must be your matric farewell.
  2. You must be a South African or Namibian citizen. Your matric farewell must take place in 2026.
  3. You may be entered by someone else (mother, girlfriend, friend, grandmother).
  4. Skryf met 3 verskillende foto’s in op matriekrok.sarie.com. Jou foto’s moet in die formaat van ’n JPEG of PNG wees, en moet tussen 1MB en 6 MB wees en in fokus. Die foto’s moet portretstyl wees en nie in landskapformaat nie. Foto’s met digitale filters sal nie oorweeg word nie.   5. Entries open on Thursday, 1 October 2026, and close on Friday, 6 November 2026, at 23:59. No late entries will be accepted.
  6. 13 finalists are selected: The judges choose 10, PLUS SARIE readers choose 3 by... matriculation.sarie.com te stem. Daar is net een wenner.
  7. SARIE readers can vote for their favorite dress from Monday, 9 November to Sunday, 15 November 2026. The top 13 finalists will be announced on matriculation.sarie.com and SARIE.com announced on Tuesday, 1 December. A maximum of one vote per voter is allowed per day.
  8. No computerised or automated votes (“bots”) will be taken into consideration.
  9. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash. The winner, selected by the judges, will appear in SARIE’s January/February 2027 issue.
  10. The judges’ decision is final and no further communication will take place.
  11. Note: An administration fee of R150 per entry is payable.
