What was your inspiration for your matric prom dress?

The inspiration for my dress came from my deep love for the ocean — its calmness, its mystery, and the way it’s always moving and changing. I wanted to capture that same sense of movement and flow, which is why the dress is covered in delicate feathers that ripple like waves when I walk. The texture brings it to life, creating the illusion of motion and energy, just like the sea. The shades of blue were chosen with purpose — from deep turquoise to soft icy tones — to mirror the gradient of the ocean as it fades into the horizon. The sparkle throughout the dress represents sunlight dancing on the water’s surface, a reminder of how something powerful can also be beautifully peaceful.

What was your favorite part of your matric prom dress?

My favourite part of the dress has to be the feathers. They bring the whole design to life — soft, flowing, and full of movement, just like ocean waves. The way they shimmer and shift with every step makes the dress feel alive and completely magical.
