I wanted something that was going to scream my personality and I think my dress captured exactly that. I wanted something classy, elegant and trendy and something that had character. I am a bubbly and enthusiastic person who does not follow the crowd and is full of life. That is the reason for my spontaneous choice of colour which is Jacaranda. I did not plan on going with this colour at first, but the moment I saw it I fell in love. My dress comprises of a number of different designs that were all put together to form this unique, one of a kind dress which sybolizes exactly who I am. My dress is a tight fitted mermaid shaped gown with a slit and a long train, with an off the shoulder design, embellished with detailed beading to give it that femine look. To top it off I had a elegant, satin coat which made me feel like a queen.

UNIQUE! BOLD! EXTRAVAGANT! The goal was to be DIFFERENT and have all eyes on me. And it was accomplished! The dream came into existence 12 years a go when I was watching my favorite princess Sofia the First and wanted to be just like her. My dress was not just a dress but had a lot of thought and inspiration and deeper meaning put into it. I first started with drawing a sketch of my dress. Then it came to life. Being a sentimental person the colour was crucial to me. The colour links to a Jacaranda Tree which symbolises resilience, ambition, growth, peace and beauty. Not only was the colour important but also finding the right fabric. For months we searched for the right fabric but could not find it, until the Lord's timing was right. We found the fabric which was beyond our expectations. The beading design symbolises the journey that I have been through, throughout my schooling career and the different paths and friendships that I have made along the way. It also represents my sparkly personality. In 2022 my dream took a step further after I saw Blake Lively's dress reveal at the Met Gala and I also wanted to make an entrance like her.

In all honesty that was very hard to decide ,because I love every single part of my dress from the off the shoulder look all the way down to my train, but one thing that really stood out was the coat. Not only did the coat tie everything together, but also added a twist to my entrance and surprised everyone as they thought the coat was my dress.
